Semana Santa y Pascua

Tras la Cuaresma (Lent period in English speaking countries) el período de penitencia, recogimiento y oración , la Pascua (Easter) marca el final de la Semana Santa (Holy Week) tal como la entendemos desde el cristianismo y se celebra de formas muy diversas a lo largo de la geografía mundial. Para los católicos en países de consolidado arraigo como el nuestro la festividad más importante es la que corresponde a la Semana Santa conmemorando los hechos que rodean la pasión, muerte y resurrección de Jesús de una forma muy especial marcada por las procesiones que toman las calles de muchas localidades siendo muy reconocidas mundialmente las de Andalucía y Castilla.En otros países es más destacada la forma de celebrar la Pascua. Las costumbres pueden variar a través del mundo cristiano siendo un motivo muy común la decoración de huevos de pascua.Ahora un poquito en inglés...

 Easter customs vary across the Christian world, but decorating Easter eggs is a common motif. In the Western world, customs such as egg hunting and the Easter Bunny extend from the domain of church, and often have a secular character.
